Sheriff Mike Kanalakis Announces New Hire For Deputy Sheriff

On January 7, 2008, Monterey County Sheriff Mike Kanalakis swore-in Jacob Meilan as a Deputy Sheriff. Sheriff Kanalakis issued the Oath of Office while family and friends of the new employee, in addition to numerous current Sheriff’s Office employees, attended the ceremony.

Jacob Meilan is a resident of Monterey County. He is a graduate from Quincy High School. Meilan earned an A.A. Degree in Administration of Justice from Feather River College. Prior to being hired with the Sheriff’s Office, Meilan had been employed as a Manager for Feather River Fitness and Recreation.

It is with great pride that the Sheriff’s Office welcomes Jacob onto our team.
