Sheriff Mike Kanalakis To Be Sworn Into Office For Second Term

On January 4, 2007, Monterey County Sheriff Mike Kanalakis will be sworn into Office for his second term by the Honorable John Anton, retired Judge of the Superior Court of California , Monterey County. The ceremony is to be held in the Board of Supervisors’ Chambers, located on the first floor of the Monterey County Administration Building, 168 West Alisal Street, Salinas, California 93901 at 4:00 PM.

The ceremony will be called to order by Sheriff’s Honor Guard Commander Alan Wheelus followed by the presentation of the colors by the Sheriff’s Color Guard. Allan Richmond will handle the introductions. Retired Federal Bureau of Investigations Special Agent Rick Lack will be the key speaker.

Following Sheriff Kanalakis’ remarks, his Executive Management Team will take the Oath of Office. The Executive Management Team includes Undersheriff Nancy M. Cuffney, Enforcement Operations Bureau Chief Deputy John G. Darling, Administration Bureau Chief Deputy Steven R. Deering, and Custody Operations Bureau Chief Deputy Norbert J. Liebersbach.

The ceremony will conclude with Eileen Cantada, Monterey County Sheriff’s Records Specialist, singing the National Anthem.

The public and media are invited to attend. Seating is limited.
